Olympus Partners, a private equity firm headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut, USA, has completed the acquisition of the DS Smith Plastics Division through their portfolio company Liquibox Corp., based in Richmond, Virginia.
Following the successful completion of the sale, DS Smith Plastics, Injection Moulded Products is launching DW Reusables as the new name of the business. DW Reusables is the European leader in injection moulded packaging such as reusable beverage crates and pallets, with more than 55 years of history. With the headquarter in Bilzen, Belgium, DW Reusables has three other facilities in Croatia, Poland and Spain from where they serve customers in Europe, Africa, Asia, North and South America.
“This is a very exciting time for us”, said DW Reusables CEO Paul Baeyens. “DW Reusables now has a home where it is ready to invest and capitalise on the tremendous potential of reusable packaging and containers that exists in the market and within the growth mindset of our exceptional employees.”
The name DW Reusables dates back to the company’s beginnings in 1964. By adding ‘reusables’ to the new name, the company emphasises its sustainable, long-life, injection moulding packaging that are 100% reusable and 100% recyclable.
“We’ve worked with many of our customers for decades, they know the DW brand, and they know that it is synonymous with great service, great innovations and great reusable products with exceptionally long-life spans that are fully reusable and recyclable,” continued Baeyens. “I guess you could say that we are re-using the DW brand as DW Reusables!”
Looking to the future the company is well-positioned to capitalise on growing environmental concerns and interest in sustainability with Loop Ready Packaging ideal for closed-loop systems.
“We have a responsibility to future generations to protect this planet and for us that means using our expertise and innovations to help companies and industries move from one-way packaging to closed-loop systems with reusable packaging. That means less waste, less energy and fewer emissions,” concluded Baeyens.
For customers there will be no change other than the new name. They will continue to receive best-in-class service from the same people they have come to know and trust over the years.
