Role Purpose
The Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring the consistent quality of semi-finished and finished injection-moulded products throughout daily production. The role combines hands-on inspection and testing with structured documentation, non-conformance management, and active shop floor support. The Quality Specialist plays a key role in maintaining compliance with ISO standards, driving corrective actions, and building quality awareness across the production team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inspection & Testing
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections of injection-moulded parts using precision measuring instruments
- Verify and approve reference samples for the start of injection moulding and screen-printing production runs
- Test products and raw materials according to defined quality standards and procedures
- Monitor daily production for quality deviations and take immediate action where required
2. Defect Identification & Troubleshooting
- Identify, document, and analyse common injection moulding defects
- Collaborate with processing technicians and production teams to investigate and resolve root causes
- Apply structured problem-solving methods to drive sustainable corrective actions
- Confidently escalate or halt production when quality boundaries are breached
3. Documentation & Non-Conformance Management
- Maintain accurate and traceable quality records, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs)
- Issue, track, and close out Corrective and Preventive Actions in a timely manner
- Compile daily records and reports on quantities of non-conforming products
- Ensure complete and accurate reporting on all quality and testing activities
4. Process Auditing & Standards Compliance
- Conduct regular audits of manufacturing lines, setup parameters, and operator packaging methods to verify compliance with SOPs
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the company quality policy in line with ISO 9001
- Ensure compliance with all applicable group standards and internal procedures
5. Calibration & Measurement Equipment
- Manage the calibration schedule for all quality testing equipment and production gauges
- Ensure all measurement instruments are maintained in calibrated and fit-for-use condition
- Flag and quarantine any equipment that falls outside calibration tolerance
6. Customer Quality & PPAP Support
- Contribute to customer quality reviews and responses to external quality complaints
Your Profile
Required
- 2–5 years of quality assurance or quality control experience within an injection moulding or plastics manufacturing environment
- Basic understanding of thermoplastic materials, resin behaviour, and the influence of moulding process variables on part dimensions and aesthetics
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management standards
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and excellent cross-functional communication
- Good command of English;
- Driving licence (category B) and proficiency with standard office and reporting software
An Advantage
- Familiarity with PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and capability analysis
- Experience with ERP or quality management systems
Working Conditions
- Time split between a climate-controlled quality laboratory and the production floor
- May require standing for extended periods and occasional lifting
- Works within a 24/7 production environment—flexibility may be required
